Board of Directors

Board President

Duties shall include the following

  • Oversees board and executive committee meetings

  • Works in partnership with Executive Director to make sure board resolutions are carried out

  • Calls special meetings if necessary

  • Assists Board Secretary and Executive Director in preparing agenda for board meetings

  • Assists Executive Director in conducting new board member orientation

  • Works with the governance committee to recruit new board members

  • Acts as an alternate spokesperson for the organization

  • Periodically consults with board members on their roles and helps them assess their performance

  • Assists with Do More Iowa financials as needed

  • Assists with special projects as needed

Requirements shall include the following

  • 2+ years fundraising experience

  • 2+ years relevant leadership experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Event planning skills are a plus

Fundraising Chair

Duties shall include the following

  • Leads all fundraising efforts on behalf of DMI partners (fundraising for events)

  • Works in partnership with Executive Director and other board members to achieve fundraising goals

  • Acts as an spokesperson for the organization and on behalf of our partners

  • Assists Executive Director with DMI Annual giving campaign

  • Assists with special projects as needed

Requirements shall include the following

  • 3+ years fundraising experience

  • 2+ years relevant leadership experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Event planning skills are a plus

Marketing Chair

Duties shall include the following

  • Leads all Marketing/social media efforts on behalf of DMI partners for events

  • Develop social media calendars for each DMI sponsored event

  • Track all analytics for each post on social media calendars

  • Works in partnership with Executive Director and other board members to assure posts are created on time

  • Acts as an spokesperson for the organization and on behalf of our partners

  • Assists with special projects as needed

Requirements shall include the following

  • 3+ years fundraising experience

  • 2+ years relevant leadership experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Event planning skills are a plus
